The Filtronic engineering team has over 200 man-years combined experience in microwave and millimetre-wave design and an unrivalled background as a high volume manufacturer of millimetre-wave products for point-to-point links.

We are able to offer bespoke microwave design services for a broad range of applications up to 110GHz - across a range of market sectors including telecoms, aerospace and defence, security imaging and medical. Our engineering team has skills in the design of integrated modules involving complex electronic control of the components and a deep understanding of the application and architecture for which the designs are intended.

We are unique in having many of our designs manufactured and tested in-house by our state of the art high volume manufacturing facility. This allows concurrent development of tailored test solutions and manufacturing processes to ensure a smooth transfer into production and rapid volume ramp up.

Filtronic designers, while always selecting the right technology for the specific application, also have access to an exclusive range of in-house designed GaN FETs or multifunction microwave and mmWave ICs which give major cost advantages to our bespoke designs.

Filtronic maintains a comprehensive range of Computer Aided Design systems for microwave circuit design, system simulation, thermal design, mechanical design and automated test programme development.
Our MMIC engineers have designed on a wide range of GaAs foundries, are experienced in the use of their design kits and are constantly fine tuning and optimising our model sets, originally derived from standard foundry models.

Filtronic has an established RF on wafer test facility and has unrivalled experienced in the measurement, characterisation and reliability analyses of mmWave devices and integrated circuits to 110GHz.
